Alright friends, let’s talk bibs.
It may seem like a really simple item to focus an entire post on but I definitely have my reasons for doing so. Firstly, I am crazy when it comes to keeping mealtime mess to a minimum. Truth be told, Ryan still wears a bib depending on what type of food he is eating. It’s guaranteed that friends and family think it’s a bit crazy but I am all about making small choices that ultimately save time. To me, bibs do a couple of things…both of which save me time. 1. They catch crumbs, drips and spills which keeps the high chair and floor cleaner, therefore decreasing the time I need to spend cleaning up these two areas after dinner. 2. They protect the kids’ clothing from stains which ultimately saves me time because I rarely have to use stain removal spray or rewash anything. (Also a bonus, their clothing stays in great shape.)
Something that I learned early on was to refrain from using fabric bibs for mealtimes. While feeding both kids their bottles, a cloth bib worked perfectly well and I am sure that it felt great against their delicate skin. However, once solids were added to their repertoire, any bib with fabric was a disaster. Again, I have zero desire to spend time spraying stain remover several times a day. When Ryan was an infant, I purchased a few of bibs all made out of different materials. Then I found it…the silicone bib! Once I tried it out, I never purchased any other kind of bib. They don’t stain and are so easy to clean. Not to mention the fact that they are basically indestructible. Honestly, you could likely get away with purchasing one single silicone bib for your child’s entire infancy and toddlerhood and be just fine. I couldn’t resist purchasing several only because some of the designs are just too cute to resist.
I wanted to share the three companies who make the bibs that we use for both Ryan and Emerson…Chewbeads, Make My Day and Bella Tunno. Each brand’s bibs are equally amazing…and adorable. Emerson wears some of Ry’s old ones and I can honestly say that they look exactly the same as they did the first day that Ryan ever wore them. I have linked a ton of my favorites below!
Have a wonderful day!
xoxo
