Not quite sure how we have already arrived at the end of the week but I’m totally cool with the weekend being just a day away. Not that we have any significant plans or anything. In fact, I am trying to remember if we have any plans. We did just decide that we are going to find something fun to do tomorrow with the kids because it’s supposed to be a great day to be outside. I say “we” even though I’m not entirely sure that David will be able to swing it with work…wishful thinking on my part! You see, the best part about his job is the fact that he has flexibility with work hours. It’s also the worst because I often assume that he can tweak his schedule to join us when we make plans to go on an adventure that’s out of the ordinary. Then, when I realize he won’t be able to come with us, I feel disappointed even though I am not naive to how fortunate we are to have him around as much as we do! I just want him around all the time, apparently.
Speaking of cool activities, David and I took Emerson to the restaurant at the North Carolina Museum of Art yesterday. Not only is the food always delicious, the atmosphere is always buzzing with excitement. There is a ton of natural light and everything is crisp and white. I love the way it feels in there and Emerson had a blast people watching. Because I felt a bit tired of my usual cardigan and sweater looks, it was time to wear something different. I opted for a mock-neck tunic and layered an oversized hooded tee over top. Over that, I threw on my moto vest. I absolutely love the way layering a tee over a long-sleeve looks. It creates a casual but cool look and is so easy to do. Plus, it’s a great way to get some use out of your favorite tees…or get a jump start on wearing new ones you have already purchased for spring! This also looks great when paired with a vintage band tee. Love the edge that it gives to a look.
