Happy Monday, all!
How was everyone’s weekend? We were busier than we have been in quite awhile. Friday was my mom’s birthday so the family headed out to a celebratory dinner that evening. We then spent all of Saturday at my parents’ house hanging out and playing. Because of the snow we experienced here in Raleigh last week, most of our time had been spent at home. The walls in our house seemed to be closing in a bit for everyone so the change in scenery felt fantastic.
Last night, David and I had a rare night out with just the two of us. My mom and sister-in-law watched Ryan and Emerson so we could go to dinner and then watch a show at DPAC afterwards. We ate at a newer restaurant called Mothers & Sons. If you are local to the area, we both HIGHLY recommend putting this on your list of restaurants to try. One of the best meals that I have eaten in years…which isn’t surprising considering it was opened by that same restaurateur who owns Mateo next door. Mateo is actually my favorite restaurant in the Triangle but now I might have to reconsider. Mothers & Sons was just that good.
For our night out, I decided to wear my favorite sweater. Not just my favorite sweater this season, I mean my favorite sweater ever. I purchased it in a rich burnt orange color earlier in the season, then ended up with a black as well and now they recently added a couple of new colors, including a gorgeous washed out blush and a pretty light blue. I grabbed the blush for our night out and paired it with over the knee boots and faded black jeans. Because the sweater is perfectly oversized and has such an ice texture to it, I didn’t feel the need to add any accessories. It was a simple but perfect look for both dinner and the show we attended. Hands down, my favorite sweater ever. Now just to keep myself from ordering every single one of the eight gorgeous colors…
