Morning, everyone!
What are your plans for the weekend? David, Ryan, Emerson and I are heading to David’s shop later this morning. It will be the first time that Emerson has been there. She has been doing so great in the car seat recently that we decided it was time to make the twenty minute drive. That might not sound like a far trip but considering a baby screaming at the top of her lungs the entire time and spitting up simultaneously. Even two minutes can feel too long. Although she will still spit up a bit once strapped in the seat, the crying is rare. I am so thrilled of her…and so happy for the rest of us. Although Ryan somehow has the ability to not let her crying bother him in the slightest, thank goodness. Anyway, we are heading to Rise for a late morning treat. Predictably, Ryan will get a sprinkle donut and I’ll have a chocolate cake donut. David will have nothing. He’s around the food every day so he has disciplined himself not to eat it all the time. When he does indulge, it’s with some sort of biscuit sandwich. What I would do for his willpower. The thought to not have anything would never cross my mind. Here’s to hoping that we have a nice trip to Cameron Village today!
Today I am sharing an outfit that’s perfect for being out and about with family or friends. (It’s also great for someone like me who recently had a baby and can’t stop stuffing her face with donuts.) If you have followed us for awhile, you might have realized that I have an obsession with all things denim. I live in jeans and find it impossible to resist a great denim jacket. When I found this distressed longline jacket, I was so excited. It was different in the fact that it came down all the way to my thigh. The coverage that it offers is amazing. Post-baby, I am all about anything that helps draw attention away from my hips. I decided to pair the edgy jacket with a more sophisticated piece…a faux fur collar. While you can absolutely wear one of these collars with a more formal look like a black dress on New Year’s, I love the contrast between the rawness of the jacket and the classic feel of the collar.

You totally give me style inspiration! I would never think to pair distressed denim with fur, but you best believe I’ll be doing that now. xx, I’m Fixin’ To
