Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Jordan…happy birthday to you!
I realize that some of you find it silly that I am posting about my dog’s birthday, but Jordan is more than just a dog to Rudy and I. We decided to get Jordan after our third failed IVF cycle. Since we have yet to be blessed with a baby of our own, we decided to have a fur baby.
We looked at shelters and online for months before seeing Jordan’s picture on a Facebook page for NC dog breeders. His sweet face tugged at my heart strings the minute I saw his picture. We contacted the breeder on a Saturday and scheduled to go meet Jordan on Sunday, but when we got up Sunday morning, we weren’t feeling motivated to do anything. We discussed to reschedule, but then something pushed us to go keep our original appointment to go meet this little guy.
We got to the breeders house and when she opened her door, there he was sitting all by himself. He was the last of the litter…she said no one wanted him b/c he was the smallest and because he is tricolored. He didn’t make a sound and when I bent over to pick him up, he didn’t pull away. I snuggled him and fell in love. Before we knew it, we were headed home as a family of three.
That was December and the he has brought so much joy and laughter into our lives the past 7 1/2 months. He is so loving. He’s playful. He loves to have his neck and belly scratched and he MUST know everything going on. He loves getting treats especially when we surprise him with the gourmet ones from the pet store. He can stand on his hind legs for what seems like forever. We are quickly learning that he is quite the model – he always poses for his pictures. And don’t think for a second that you can talk about him without his big ears perking up to listen.
He is spoiled like no other, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We love our little Jordan!
