Gift wrapping used to be a task that I dreaded. It felt like a chore. I am a notoriously terrible wrapper so it always lead to frustration. Once I finally began to realize that it could, in fact, be a fun activity, everything changed. My wrapping abilities improved and I began to look forward to the opportunity to be creative.
Today, I am sharing a simple idea for personalizing gift wrap. This was how I wrapped my father-in-law’s present for Father’s Day this past weekend.
What You Need
Kraft wrapping paper
Twine
Stamps
A tiny branch of foliage (or fresh flowers work great too)
Instructions
1. Simply wrap the gift in the kraft wrapping paper. (I find that a thinner paper works best although you can use the thicker kind you find at the post office in a pinch.)
2. Select any stamp that lends itself to personalization. (My FIL is from Virginia so I selected a mason jar stamp. I then used my letter stamps and made a “G” for “Grandpa” on all of the jars.)
3. Feel free to stamp in any order. Get creative with the patterns! Also, if you don’t have a lot of time, you can only stamp the top of the paper. If you decide to stamp the entire gift, I recommend that you cut the paper to the desired size and stamp before you begin wrapping.
4. Tie the twine around the present and tuck the small branch under the twine.
5. You’re done! Too easy not to try, right?!
We would love to see the personalized papers that you make in the future!
Hope you all have a wonderful start to the week!
xoxo
