I am a self-confessed product junkie. If someone I trust recommends a hair or skincare product, you better believe that I am going to give it a whirl. I am also all for asking someone in public. If I spot a girl with amazing skin, makeup or hair, you better believe that I will ask which products she uses. (I just realized that this is ironic being as I am typically a bit shy and am too nervous to talk to strangers but apparently my beauty concerns override the social anxiety. Ha!)
As far as my skin goes, I have a matte complexion and always long for anything to give my skin a dewy glow. I began using Kiehl’s two months ago and am thrilled with the results. I put it on approximately 15 minutes prior to applying my makeup and my skin feels softer than ever. Truthfully, I used to splurge on La Mer and finally became fed up because I just wasn’t seeing results. I used it on and off for years before becoming frustrated and deciding that I could not justify the expense. This Kiehl’s moisturizer is a fraction of the cost of La Mer and the results (for me) have been superior. In addition to the moisturizer, MAC’s Mineralize and Strobe cream are my go-to makeup products for creating a nice glow.
Speaking of La Mer, although the moisturizing cream wasn’t it perfect match for my skin, the illuminating gel works wonders for my under eye area. Again, it is expensive, but not only does it help with the dark area under eyes, I have seen a significant decrease in the appearance of my crow’s feet. I figure that it is far less expensive than fillers! Plus, although the tube looks tiny, I have been using the same one for over three months because (as with all La Mer products) a little bit goes a long way.
The Buxom shadow primer below has been my favorite for years. My shadow stays in place from morning until night. It’s amazing. Also, the fact that it is in a pencil for helps you to cover your entire lid without getting the product in your lashes.
I finish my morning routine with my brows. This Anastasia brow pencil is great because it is a super fine pencil. This allows you to make tiny strokes that actually look like little brow hairs. The small tip also allows for accuracy when filling in the necessary areas. Personally, I think it is one of the best brow pencils out there.
