Do you ever have those days when all you want is to stay in your pajamas or sweats? Unfortunately, our busy lives must continue even on the days when we just want to stay curled up on the couch. My simple trick to look like I made an effort to get ready is to throw on a hat, a long coat and bold lipstick. Your hair can stay unwashed and you can keep a comfy sweatshirt on underneath your coat. The lipstick creates the illusion that you have put on a full face of makeup when in reality you just slapped on some lip color. Pretty easy, right? This is a great look for when you’re out running errands and are worried about running into someone you know. Do you feel that way or is it just me and my vain self? I never want to look “undone” because that will be the time when I run into everyone I know at the grocery store. Please tell me that I’m not alone.
There is something about a long black coat that instantly makes women appear more sophisticated. It is such a classic look and a great staple to have in any woman’s closet. For me, this piece is a splurge item. Because it is such a timeless item, I would rather spend more and wear it for years and years. I will link some cool options at varying price points below!

Well, looks like the weather predictions for Raleigh were correct after all. I wish I could say that there is a beautiful blanket of snow covering the ground. Instead, there is a small bit of snow but we have been having freezing in all morning. I would imagine that the roads are one expansive slick ice rink. It is supposed to snow later in the day once it warms up outside. I am going to bundle up Ryan and take him over to his cousins’ to play in the snow for the first time. They live just a few streets away so we won’t have to drive very far!
Hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful weekend!
xoxo
