I recently traveled back to Los Angeles to attend a close friend’s wedding. Prior to leaving (and with fingers crossed), I tried on dress after dress that I already owned, hoping that one would fit. I had yet to purchase a (non-maternity) dress since before my pregnancy. Let’s just say that my new body shape and lack of post-baby weight loss made it glaringly apparent that a new dress would be necessary.
Upon arriving in L.A., I headed to The Americana in Glendale and looked around. Nothing worked. I began to panic a little and then remembered that there was a new Bloomingdales in the mall just a block away. My mom, husband, Ryan and I all headed in that direction. On my way to Bloomingdales, the window of the BCBG store caught my eye. While I have always been a fan, the collections the past few years have not struck my fancy.
Just moments after entering the store, I was blown away. The dresses were stunning. The prints, the color, the flowing fabrics…really impressive. I also worked with a sugary sweet and incredibly helpful salesgirl. She listened to my concerns about my body and began immediately started pulling dresses with flattering silhouettes. I should mention that my arms have always been my biggest area of insecurity. BCBG offered at least a dozen dress options that had sleeves. I was in heaven.
I walked away with a dress for the wedding in L.A. as well as an additional dress for an upcoming wedding. They were offering a Family & Friends 25% off discount which was a definite bonus.
Here is the dress that I wore to my friend’s wedding during my trip…
I ultimately paired the dress with an adorable open-front jacket that I found at the store. The day of the wedding I wore black booties but I love that this dress can be changed up with accessories. This would be perfect for a beach wedding with a delicate long necklace and some simple flat sandals as well.
Details: Dress: BCBG | Jacket: BCBG | Statement necklace: Baublebar (this color is old and they no longer offer it but the necklace does come in three additional color options) | Shoes: Louise et Cie (no longer available but here is another cute option)
Happy Friday!
xoxo
