I have been on the hunt for a comfortable moto jacket for well over a year now. I struggled to find one that allowed me to move freely. It was important for me to find a jacket that provided enough extra room so that I had the option of wearing several layers underneath. It was also difficult to find one that wasn’t at least somewhat cropped. My torso is long so tops and jackets with a bit of additional length tend to be much more flattering. I was thrilled when I saw this Cole Haan jacket on the Bloomingdale’s website. The fact that it was on sale was a bonus. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that not only did it fit perfectly, the leather was incredibly soft. I had finally found my perfect leather jacket.
My husband had given me this insanely soft faux fur scarf for Christmas. I love it because it provides a perfect amount of texture to any outfit while also keeping me toasty. This scarf comes is several colors…I am wearing Wolf. It is currently on sale for just $15.99!
I paired my leather jacket with a statement necklace from Baublebar. I like to mix masculine pieces (like the jacket) with feminine details (like the sparkly necklace).
A moto-inspired leather jacket is a great piece to have in your wardrobe. It can be worn several different ways. It looks great thrown over a plain white tee or a flannel shirt. You can also dress it up by wearing it over a cocktail dress. I love the contrast of the tough look with a soft dress. Here are a couple of my favorite looks that feature moto jackets…
This first look pairs the leather moto jacket with camo. Personally, I think this is a phenomenal combination.
Wearing a great leather jacket over a maxi dress creates such beautiful interest. I love the juxtaposition of the hard leather paired with the softness of a flowing dress.
This next look illustrates how to wear the moto jacket casually with a basic plain white tee and a pair of Cons. I think that (like the girl in the image) it is important to focus on your hair and makeup in order to complete this look. Wearing stripes under a leather jacket is a great look. This look can easily be achieved with a striped shirt or a striped dress. This final inspiration look is one of my favorites. I LOVE pairing leather and plaid.
We would love to know which one of these looks is your favorite!
xoxo
