I am beyond thrilled to share that my husband, David, and I are having a baby!
To be completely honest, I have been anxious about making the pregnancy so “public” but I could only hide my big ol’ belly in pictures for so long. Not to mention the fact that my excitement was becoming difficult to contain. I had been diagnosed with breast cancer in January of this year so, as of 9 months ago, our future with regards to children was uncertain. I underwent surgery and, thankfully, they were able to eradicate all of the cancer. David and I have been dreaming about this sweet baby so we could not be happier! We keep saying that we began this year on such a negative note but we will be ending the year one the most beautiful note we can imagine!
Awhile back, David and I hosted a gender reveal party with just our families. We decided that we wanted to find out if we were having a boy or a girl at the same time as our loved ones. David and I went to an ultrasound appointment and I left with a sealad envelope in my hand. Inside the envelope was either the word Boy or Girl. We had previously decided to take the results to a local bakery, The Cupcake Shoppe, and have them make cupcakes filled with either blue or pink icing. I immediately drove to the bakery because that little envelope was burning a hole in my hot little hand. The party was in five days…a seemingly excruciating wait.
When our family members arrived for the get-together, I had them each select either a blue balloon or a pink balloon, indicating whether they thought we were going to be having a baby boy or a baby girl. .
We then went inside and ate dinner before eating our cupcakes…yet another loooooong wait. Finally, it was time to dig in and find out whether we would be welcoming a boy or a girl into the family. Everyone bit into their cupcakes and they revealed that…
…IT’S A BOY! David and I both had a “feeling” that we would be seeing blue icing. For me, our last ultrasound had convinced me because the baby’s profile looked EXACTLY like my husband.
I am currently going on 28 weeks pregnant and our sweet baby boy is expected to arrive on December 9th. He is likely to make his grand entrance into the world right in the midst of the holiday season!
David and I could not be more excited to welcome our little guy in just three short months! Eeeeeek!
Hope you all are having a beautiful week!
