Good morning, friends!
First of all, I want to thank you for allowing me to take last week off. It was important to me that our family trip to California consisted of a ton of quality time so I ultimately made the decision to post a bit on Instagram but to refrain from writing any blog posts during that time. It was really wonderful to focus on making memories and being present during our time together…and during our first “vacation” with Emerson. I did, however, come back from our trip feeling ready to get back into the swing of things around here!
Okay, speaking of getting back into everything…let’s talk boyfriend jeans. I feel like either women love them or steer clear of them. What is your take? I have always loved how they look on other people but have been hesitant to wear a pair myself. Well, that’s not entirely true. I used to wear them before they were such a big trend. I lived in them during the spring and summer prior to having Ryan and Emerson. After having two kids, because my hips are no longer narrow like they were previously, I was concerned that they would only add width to my frame so I opted to avoid them. It wasn’t until I recently found the perfect pair of simple heels that I could truly envision my ideal outfit with boyfriend jeans. Pairing the sleek and feminine heels with the relaxed fit of the jeans seemed like the perfect juxtoposition.
This gorgeous white tunic top with tiny blue stripes seemed ideal to wear with my jeans. It is a fabulous versatile piece for both spring and summer. Super lightweight and a great length. I love that you can wear it untucked or do a casual front tuck. I discussed these particular shoes on my Instagram post a few days ago. I wore them to my high school reunion while we were out in L.A. and never once felt any discomfort despite having them on for over six hours! I was shocked…truly. They come in several color and material options and are really versatile. Definitely my go-to heel this year!
