The Prettiest Beach Towels

It’s Friday, friends!  Do any of you have fun plans for this holiday weekend?  Admittedly, it feels a little odd using that term when the fourth doesn’t actually fall on the weekend but I am assuming that many of you have off through Tuesday so it’s like a super long weekend, right?

We are going to head to the beach for a few days.  Not sure our exact timeline just yet but one thing is certain…I need to start packing.  We leave several of our convenience items (toiletries, hats, bathing suits, etc.) down there at the house but not clothes so I need to get a move on packing for Ryan and myself.

Because of the holiday quickly approaching, it seemed like the perfect time to share some gorgeous options for beach towels.  Gone are the days when beach towels were purely functional.  They are now often made to make a statement while laying on the beach or lounging by the pool.  Here are some of the prettiest beach towels out there…

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Stripes, Stripes & More Stripes

Good morning!

Hope everyone’s week is flying and that you have fun (or relaxing) plans for Memorial Day weekend.  Personally, I cannot wait for the weekend.  We are heading to the beach for a few days.  My parents’ place is finished and all of the beds have been delivered.  While there is a ton left to do, we have the essentials so we are ready to start using the heck out of the home.  The entire family is so psyched to create amazing memories together…especially with the three (soon-to-be four) little ones.  The house is located in a really quiet area where the kids can ride bikes and run wild as they get older.  It’s going to be so special for everyone so we looking forward to our first trip this weekend with the whole family!  The only downside, we have no baby gates.  It never occurred to me so we will be purchasing them shortly but, in the meantime, I’ll be chasing my little monkey around like a lunatic.  Sounds relaxing, right?

Alright, moving onto today’s style topic…stripes!  Does anyone else love the simplicity of a striped top?  I cannot resist a comfy, classic black and white striped top.  They are pieces that are timeless and are worth every penny.  How amazing is it that you can now find everything else you need in a striped pattern?  Bags, bathing suits, pants…you can find just about anything and in all different colors!  I have put together my absolute favorite striped items for spring and summer for you all to check out…

Beach Essentials

It’s vacation time!!!  I can’t put into words how excited I am that Rudy and I are headed to the beach tomorrow.  I need some time away…a break from reality.  This is our second year going to the beach with my family and while we don’t all stay together, we will all see each another at some point throughout the week.  So ready!

While preparing for this trip, I found myself purchasing some new items to try.

(shop items below)

While I haven’t tested all of these items, I can tell you that the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream smells amazing. I started using it this week and I can’t get enough.  It supposedly tightens and smooths skin, but I haven’t noticed any of that yet.

I did wear my new J.Crew bathing suit over the 4th of July weekend and I have no complaints. I  was in and out of the pool playing with the kids and it stayed up and in place, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

I purchased a cheap pair of sunglasses from Urban Outfitters because I like wearing my glasses in the pool and don’t want to worry about losing or breaking my more expensive ones.   Same goes for the hat, I actually purchased this during 4th of July sales, so I only paid $15!  Can’t beat that.

While I’m at the beach, I don’t like wearing heavy makeup, so I decided to give Urban Decay’s One and Done weightless foundation a try.  All I’m really looking for it to do is even out my skin tone, so we shall see.  Added bonus…it is 20 SPF.

Every once in a while I use a sea salt spray on days I don’t feel like doing anything to my hair.  I typically use it the day after I curl my hair just to add some texture to waves from the previous day.  I purchased Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe cream to try in additional to my sea salt spray.  Hopefully it allows me to go several days without styling my hair.  Fingers crossed.

Finally, I wear sunscreen all over, but I bought this Coopertone Face sunscreen to wear on my face.  It’s says it is clear, which is nice because I don’t want to walk around with white lotion on my face.

I wouldn’t typically consider myself a product junkie but I may be becoming one.  Hope you all have a great weekend!
