Black for Spring

Last week, I wrote about a lightweight handkerchief dress and wedges that I recently found and then yesterday Tiffany posted about an adorable pale pink dress that is perfect for spring and summer.  It is as if Mother Nature laughed at our optimism because the temperature here in Raleigh has dropped and the rain barely stopped yesterday.  It was a two cups of coffee kind of day.  Not because I didn’t sleep well the previous night, but because the rain makes me feel sleepy and unmotivated.  I am sure that some of you can relate, right?

Personally, I am a huge fan of dark colors.  While I might opt to wear something bright and colorful or soft and feminine once and awhile, darker colored pieces tend to draw my attention.  Often times, as spring approaches, stores are flooded with pastels and floral prints so when I found this tunic, I was thrilled.  It is a great piece to wear in the spring because despite the darker colors, the lightweight material and bohemian feel help soften the top.  The point is, wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.  There are so many amazing options out there so don’t ever feel like you have to follow specific rules!

  1. I can have slept for 10 hours the night before and I will still yawn and struggle when it’s raining. I love dark colors too. My sisters joke on me for wearing so much black but I can’t help it. It’s so chic and I can accessorize it with anything in my collection. Those booties are too cute!
